סרט מטלטל הלוקח את הצופה למסע במרחבי המדבר, שהוא גם מסע פנימי אל נפשו של קיקי. אט אט נרקמת מערכת יחסים בין אח ואחות ומתגלה הפצע המשפחתי שיצר את המערבולת הרגשית בה שרויים גיבורי הסרט. המדבר מכיל את הכאב באמצעות מלווי המסע, המדריכים את קיקי למצוא מפתח אל ליבו רגע לפני התהום. סרט מרגש המחזיר את האמונה ברוח  האדם.

The judges' reasoning:

A deeply moving film that takes the viewer on a journey through the desert, which is also an inner journey into Kiki's soul. Slowly, we reveal the brother-sister relationship, and the family wound that created the emotional turbulence in which the film's protagonists find themselves. The desert contains the pain through a couple of field therapists, who guide Kiki to find a key to his heart. A film that restores faith in human spirit.

דרך מוות של לוויתן והיחס של בני אדם לבעלי חיים, נוגע הסרט בשאלות גדולות על חיים ומוות ובהתמודדות עם אובדן. הסרט מביא את מרקם החיים החברתי המורכב בישראל: יהודים, ערבים ובני תרבויות שונות. באמצעות הלווייתן המת נוצרים הגשרים האנושיים בהם אין משמעות לדת כזו או אחרת. סרט פיוטי ומתבונן, המעניק רגעי קסם קולנועי המלווים את הצופה גם  כאשר הסרט מסתיים.

The Judges' Reasoning: 

Through a death of a Whale, and the way

humans treat animals, the film taches the eternal questions of life and death and coping with loss. The film illuminates the complex social fabric of life in Israel: Jews, Arabs and other social groups. Through the dead whale, human bridges are created in which one religion, or another has no meaning. A poetic and contemplative film, which provides moments of cinematic magic that accompany the viewer even when the film ends.

סרט עדין ורגיש עם מבע קולנועי ייחודי, אמיץ ולא מתפשר. הסרט משרטט את דמותו של עמית, צפר צעיר שנפשו יוצאת למרחב כאשר בגופו מקננת מחלה קשה. באמצעות יומניו הצופים מגלים עולם ומלואו, את "עולם הצפרות" החבוי והבלתי מוכר  ואת נפשו הרגישה והמיוחדת של עמית ששאפה לגבהים חדשים בעולמנו.

The judges' reasoning:

A delicate sensitive film with a unique, courageous, and uncompromising cinematic expression. The film portrays Amit - a young birder whose soul yearns for freedom, while a serious illness nests in his body. Through his observation diaries, viewers discover a whole unfamiliar world, of bird watching, and Amit's sensitive and unique soul.

מבע קולנועי מיוחד ומרגש, עיצוב הדמות הראשית מרעננת ושונה מהמקובל, הסרט מדבר על גבולותיו של האדם מול הטבע ובודק את גבולות המבע הקולנועי בהתאם. האנימציה משתלבת באופן אורגני בסיפור, ונוצר קשר לגיבור, קשר המעניק משמעות לעיסוק בתחום הגלישה. פס קול נהדר. סרט נפלא.

A special and exciting cinematic expression. The main character designed in refreshing and different way from the usual, the film talks about the limits of man vis-à-vis nature, and tests the boundaries of cinematic expression accordingly. The animation is organically integrated into the story, and a connection to the protagonist is created -  a connection that gives meaning to snowboard surfing. Great soundtrack. Wonderful film

הסרט מקבץ מגוון רחב של אנשים הפועלים למען דובי הגריזלי, בתקווה למנוע את היכחדותם. המפגשים עם הדמויות השונות מלווים בצילומים מרהיבים של דובי הגריזלי בטבע, וכל אלו יחד מאפשרים לנו להבין את החשיבות העצומה של דובי הגריזלי ואת האחריות שיש לנו - בני האדם, לחיות  בדו-קיום עם הטבע.

The judges' reasoning:

The film gathers a wide variety of people working on behalf of the Yellowstone grizzly bears, hoping to prevent their extinction. The  film brings spectacular footage of grizzly bears in nature,  along side the encounters with the various characters, to open our eyes to the tremendous importance of grizzly bears and the responsibility we humans have for co-existence with nature.

הצצה לחיים בלתי רגילים, של אדם בשם אלכסנדר, שעובד

יום יום ביערות המושלגים של רוסיה, שם הוא נתקל בדובה שמנסה להגן על גוריה. המפגש משנה את תפיסת עולמו. הצפייה בסרט מאפשרת לנו לצלול לנקודת מבטו של אלכסנדר, לחוות יחד אתו את החיבור ליער ואת האופן הצנוע בו הוא מתבונן על העולם שסביבו.

The judges' reasoning:

a glimpse into the extraordinary life of a man named Alexander, who works daily in the snowy forests of Russia, where he encounters, a she-bear who is trying to protect her cubs. That encounter changes his worldview. we dive into Alexander's point of view, and experience his deep connection to the forest, and the humble way in which he looks at the world.

The film allows a moment of detachment from reality, a poetic levitation. Along with extraordinary footage of nature from a bird's eye view. Through the voiceover and the unique rhythm of the film, one can almost feel the wind blowing and the beating heart.
